IDEA 1: LUCKY NUMBERS
Audience Pleasures:Surveillance
The viewers will gain pleasure from watching the luxury that comes along with extreme wealth and the feeling of victory from winning millions.

Rachel's relationship with her ill father will help to reinforce the audiences' family values. Additionally, the friendship between Dan and Brad, with Brad being more level headed, is likely to reinforce friendship relationships for the viewers.

Personal Identity
The audience are likely to gain pleasure from watching Rachel defend herself and fight for whats right, despite her bad luck, which will reinforce the viewers' personal values.
STRENGTHS:
This TV series would fit well into the requirements of the brief as it would appeal to 15-25 year olds as the characters are slightly older so the viewers will look up top the characters as role models and be inspired and intrigued with how life is at that age. Additionally, although a lottery ticket can't be purchased until the age of 18, a scratch card can at 16 and the idea of winning the lottery is glorified from a young age so this subject is something that can easily be related to everyone.
Along with this, the ethics of picking up the lottery ticket that Dan didn't buy is likely to cause a controversial debate which will in keep with BBC3's current library of edgy content.
WEAKNESSES:
Lucky Numbers will explore the extreme spending after winning the lottery which means is could be pricey to film, neglecting the 'low budget' required in the brief. However, with clever filming, such as use of close up shots of handing over money, the desired affect could be achieved within a small budget.
IDEA 2: DOUBLE - DEALING (DUPLICITY)
Modified summary:
DUPLICITY is a Crime Drama TV series which follows two young men leading polar opposite lives after the death of their mother enforces a change in their life which they deal with in contrasting ways. Similarly, the viewers will likely be pleasured by gaining insight to the life of a criminal and the danger it brings with it.
Personal Relationships
The TV Drama will help to enforce the viewers' romantic relationships through the growing romance between Madison and Cason. Along with this, siblings are likely to feel reinforced by this TV drama through Cason making difficult decision and putting himself in more danger in order to try and help his brother.

Double-Dealing may contribute pleasure through escapism as the audience are distracted from their everyday worries as they focus on the mystery and suspense that the drama brings with it.
Personal Identity
Male viewers are likely to gain pleasure through being through the strong male characters who work hard to get what they want whilst female viewers may through a strong woman figure, Madison, who is able to guide Cason to a more ethical outlook and moral standing.
STRENGTHS:
The edgy subjects tackled with the crime ridden brother, Cason, are likely to appeal to the correct age range for the brief and BBC3 as topics such as drug dealing and crime are controversial.
Similarly, the pleasure that will be gained through the older male characters with appeal to the age range as the viewers will look up to the characters for insight.
Along with this, using African American characters increase the controversy surrounding the drama which will appeal to BBC3 viewers.
WEAKNESSES:
The TV Drama may require a lengthy casting process to find twins of the right age that would fit the characters or will need to be cleverly edited using CGI to create the affect of two identical characters. This may be an expensive and lengthy process.
Similarly, the setting of a prison may be expensive to film in and may be too pricey to do within a budget. However, a clever setting that looks similar to a prison could be used to keep the series within the budget.
IDEA 3: RETROSPECTION
Unlike the other tv drama ideas, Retrospection is a mystery/crime drama meaning the episode lengths are 40 minutes and they aren't self contained so will run on from episode to episode and keep the viewers engaged through cliff hangers so they are desperate to watch the next episode to find out what happens. An example could be that a key piece of evidence is found which could help to convict Robert just as the episode fades out.Audience Pleasures:
Surveillance
The TV Drama will likely provide pleasure through containing insight into the impact on dementia on an individual and their family.
Personal Relationships
The audience may gain pleasure from the reinforcement of a mother - daughter relationship through Rachel's unconditional love for Mary and the love her children have for her
Diversion
Retrospection may contribute pleasure through escapism as the audience are distracted from their everyday worries as they focus on the mystery and suspense that the drama brings with it. Similarly, when the viewers return to the real world, they are relieved to not be in situation of the characters in the tv show, resulting in pleasure.
Personal Identity
Girls watching may gain pleasure through having their femininity reinforced with a strong and independent female character who juggles her job, kids and is committed to solving the mystery in order to save her mother.
STRENGTHS:
Dementia and ethics surrounding the older generation is topical but also a controversial as its a sensitive topic, this makes it a perfect fit for the BBC who have a job to broadcast a diverse range of content and also, more specifically, for BBC3 who want to entice the younger generation with controversial content
WEAKNESSES:
The story contains transgressive content so may need to be checked to see if it complied with the BBFC rating to ensure the target audience can view it.
Similarly, the characters are of an older age so may not appeal to the 15-25 year old target audience as motherhood and the responsibility associated with it is likely to be of less understanding.
To Conclude.......
The TV drama i have decided to move forward with is idea 2, Double - Dealing (which i have now re-named Duplicity), because it fits in well with the BBC3 content as its similar to shows such as ----- in that it explores a fantasy experience whilst tackling the challenges that would come along with it.
The series will similarly encapsulate the stereotypes that come with black males, the psychology behind dealing with grief and the nature vs nurture debate through the twin characters which fits with the BBC's mission statement; 'to inform and educate'. Along with this, the drama will add the aspect of 'entertainment'.
Although the budget may be higher than some of BBC3's other series due to range of locations needed and the CGI needed to produce identical twins, this will hopefully be compensated for by the few speaking characters required to be casted and the fact that they won't need to be well known. Similarly, many other series also use a variety of locations to film such as 'Killing Eve'.
In addition, the drama series will appeal to the target audience through the use of older characters who will act as role models and the controversial debate of ethics and nature vs nurture which will likely stem from watching the show which may enforce personal relationships with friends.
